Can't Connect... Please HELP

Alright, I've been in contact with a support representative but he will no longer respond to my e-mails. I PURCHASED Limewire PRO a few months ago and all the sudden it does not connect. I am running MAC OS 10.2 on an iMac with Limewire 3.8.10 I believe. There may be a firewall but I am not sure how to find out. I already tried deleting the folder and it wasn't successful. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Since I paid for Limewire I believe I should be able to download music. Thanks

oops--LW enables file sharing--it gives you no rights as to what you upload or download, just as the telephone doesn't give you any right to say or hear anything: it's just a tool.

Anyway, if Pro support thought they had already answered your questions, I can't believe thay couldn't help you open your firewall. THe LW Help Menu Tip of the Day has it right there too.

The firewall that is built into Jaguar can easily be turned off, or opened for LimeWire to connect to the gnutella network:

Apple Menu->System Preferences->Sharing->Firewall->New, then click the list and scroll down to Gnutella/Limewire (6346). There: The Firewall, whether on or off, will now ensure it allows gnutella connections.

If you still aren't getting connected, something else is blocking. How do you connect to the internet? Home? Router? School? Cable? Modem? . . . etc

Maybe I'm running MAC OS 10.1 because when I go to system preferences and sharing, I don't see "firewall" anywhere. Also, my connection is Pacbell DSL. Thanks and hopefully you can help

You can see what system you are running in Apple Menu->About This Mac.

Does your DSL modem plug directly into your ethernet port, or do you have a router or hub in between?

Ok... my operating system is MAC OS 10.1.5 and I do have hub in between my DSL modem. I greatly appreciate your help and hope we can figure this out.
