Can't Connect At All I've never been able to connect to Limewire. I've tried using 3.8.9, 3.8.10, and the beta, 3.9.3, none of them I can connect. I do have the required port open, I don't have a firewall up, I've tried the purger.jar thing, but I wasn't able to get that running, yet. I use NetZero Hi Speed as my internet connection ( 56k ) Windows XP I don't know what else to try.. |
Using the 3.9.3 beta, click on the 'Restore Defaults' button in Options/Preferences. For OSX this is in LimeWire -> Preferences, for everything else it's at Tools -> Options. Then Restart LimeWire. |
Um, well I don't see any Restore To Default buttons. And I don't see how that would help, for I havn't even editted any of the preferences. |
Thanks for the help I'm getting guys. Well I didn't do anything to LimeWire, but now when I start LimeWire up, it connects for 1 second, as a poor connection, then disconnects me again, on and off every 15-30 seconds. |
What kind of internet connection do you use? |

Well, now I can connect, and I have an excellent connection.. What caused it? I dunno. I didn't even change anything. I'm afraid to disconnect for fear of never being able to connect again. :P But I wasn't even paying attention, I noticed LimeWire was running, clicked it, and voila.. connected.. I've downloaded 2 things.. so far so good. Let's hope everything continues to work. |
Well LimeWire is acting similar to a car. When I first connect, it's poor, and disconnects from time to time. Give it 10 minutes to " warm up " and the connection will go from poo to goof to fair to Excellent. After a half an hour it's at excellent and stays excellent.. All it needs is a lil warming up. :-\ Any ideas on how to get an excellent connection off the bat is appreciate.. I dun wanna havta wait 15-30 min to get the connectino I want. |
