Default i'm new and cant connect

ok ive just downloaded this thing, and i cant do anything with it...i know i have to connect and all but when i press the button it just doesn't do anything. Please please help me!!

The only thing that I could make out of your post is that you dloaded LW and now can't connect, right?
Now, be more specific and state:
LW version
Operating System
Connection Speed
Firewalled yes/no

(These should do. If I forget anything, then others are free to say so)

Well since no one is answering my thread, and this guy has the same problem as me, I'll post it in here.

LimeWire Client 3.8.9
Windows XP
56k
Yes, but I turn the firewall completely off, and I've tried configuring Firewall to let it through, and still nothing.

Yes you did forget something: ISP's and networks blocking Gnutella or fileshareing. Contact your ISP or sysadmin to find out if they do. Good luck.

strodeath--the devs have found a way that might help the connection problems: a new update should be out shortly.

Good...

This means that nothing is blocking your access to PORT 6346.....
Knowing this is about 90% of the usual 'battle' !

So, what is happening ?

Sounds as if you may be having more of an install problem...
