Don't know if my situation is too particular to work on, but thanks if you have any insight. I'm running the LW basic beta version on OS 8.6 (the regular version wouldn't start, but the beta works)--this is the beta version specified as "Mac Classic No VM" whatever that means. Anyway the program works but I can't connect. The jar file you posted probably isn't written for Mac Classic; at any rate it just opens up for me as text in IE.

Any good advice for a Mac Classic user?

I should add that as far as I can tell, Limewire is the ONLY file-sharing software available on ANY big network for Mac OS Classic, and I probably speak for many when I say I would love if it connected.

adrmac, what jar are you talking about? I'm guessing your post belongs here .

Anyway, Internet Explorer sometimes opens files that are intended for download--just command-click (I recall?) the link and choose "save to disk"

If your situation needs more help, post back. I'm losing familiarity with 8.6 fast, but will try.
