Give us some specs on your PC. Maker/manufacturer, amount of RAM, OS, hard drive size, and so on.

You sure you clicked the right links while trying to dld Pro?

LW cannot crash your PC Cu20me  Try updating your java if possible: dl the 1.4.2 jre available here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

With all the problems you got with LW and your PC (by looking at all your posts) I wonder why you are still trying LW or simply why you don't do a clean install of Windows XP. Your computer software and/or hardware seems *really* crappy.

Bonne chance

Hey, et voilą. How come you're so sure that LW cannot crash a PC? Is it something in it's programming or something? (You can tell that I'm still a newbie when it comes to computers...)

et voilą June 28th, 2004 04:29 AM

Salut murasame, on a multi thread os like os x or windows xp, a program can stall or crash, but this shouldn't crash the PC or mac. Especially since LW does not install weird drivers for hardware and is runned by a java run time (java crashes before xp or os x).

Now reasons for drivers crashes are numerous (especially when they come not supported by microsoft or apple). Hardware too: bad ram, pc becoming too hot, hardware conflict, etc.

Yeah, I kinda knew that about OSX, what with the "Application has unexpectedly quit. The system and blah blah are not affected" message, but you can't always trust these right? I mean there's almost always an exception to the rule.

Right. But if you look at the record of Cu20me posts, you'll see something is definitly wrong with his computer.

Ciao
