Default Help My Limewire Is Giving Trouble

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP Pro
2. What firewalls you have? Limewire is showing I have one, Windows says I don't have one and AVG I can't find any firewall info
3. How much ram? Don't Know sorry
4. Hard Disk space available? 16.4GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? BT Home Hub
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. Limewire: 4.14.7 PRO Java: 1.5.0_11
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? BT
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It said your test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem, I have had Limewire for over a year
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, but its always been there

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Not sure about this sorry
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall AVG but I cannot find any info about a firewall
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). UK

Hi,
I have been using Limewire for over a year now with no problems at all.
However, all of a sudden (Since yesterday) it will not let me download, when I click on a file I want to download it just says connecting. The status bar at the bottom says I have Turbo Charged connection and is turquoise in colour.
Please could someone tell me why this has happened all of a sudden and how can I get back to how it was before.
Thank you.
Denise

PS: I have tried deleting Limewire and reloading it.

It could be fake files you are seeing in your results...
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...h-results.html

It could be that you have connected to Fake Ultrapeers as well...

Try this and see if it helps...
Go to your connections Tab in limewire, if it's not showing up go to Veiw > Show/Hide and make sure the connection tab has a tick next to it...
Then click on the Hosts and remove them and let Limewire search for some more...

If you keep getting the same hosts over and over, add the IP numbers into your Host Filter...
Tools > Options > Filters and select the Host Filter and add these IP's into it and select apply...

It could even be your ISP...As they have a Fair Use Policy in place...
::. Kitz - ISP Caps, FUPs and Prices .::

Your Modem/router also has a Nat Firewall, that is why you are seeing the wall in front of the globe...
These are your instruction on Port Forwarding...
Port Forwarding for the BT Home Hub
