Someone else posted a thread with a similar problem. I told him that I have a friend who uses XP Pro himself and his PC started restarting when he dlded something with BitTorrent. The restarts got more frequent and before he knew it, his PC started restarting evn while dlding with LW.
He had done all the virus scans for Sasser and Sasser clones available, but as it turned out, his HD was the one at fault. Seems that it got damaged (probably because he hadn't turned his PC for quite a while) somehow.

Before checking if anything's wrong with your HD though, try any anti-virus applications you may have. There are also dedicated Sasser-detecting applications that are built specifically in order to track Sasser and eliminate it from the PC (in case you don't know, Sasser causes a PC to restart with increasing frequency).
Perhaps there is some kind of hardware-tester application (like the one for Macs) out there.
