I am unable to connect!!! What error do I get? That a firewall is blocking Limeware to access the Internet What have I tried? - I deleted the .limewire folder under my name in Documents and Setting, but still no connection. - I followed step-by-step the “Windows XP Internet connection firewall” solution from the “Connection Problems/Firewall Issues” section at www.limewire.com. However, I can’t set the IP address (127.0.0.1) mentioned in step 11. Instead of saving this IP address it takes the name of my computer. - I am usually connected wireless via router, but I have the same problem if I connect directly through ethernet cable to the cable modem. * The most frustrating thing is that two weeks ago I was able to connect without any problems, same Internet connection, same programs, etc. My Internet connection, OS: Cable Modem 256 kbps, I usually connect wireless through a router (Linksys) with default setting (no firewalls that I am aware of) I have Windows XP Home Edition. Thanks, Beto |
I have had exactly the same problems. I have modified xp firewall and norton anti-virus firewall as recommended along with unistalling then re-installing Lime wire to run through java. There seems no reason that i can think of that it is not connecting. Literally everytime i go to connect through going to file nothing happens!! If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate them as i think my head is going to explode in trying to work what is going on out!! thanks j12adb  |
