Got connected once, not can't now

I finally turned off Spy Sweeper and it connected yesterday. I tuned it off today and when LimeWire first came up the smallest bar was green and then went red. NOW all are red and it won't connect at all again. Getting furstrated here!!

do you have a firewall, or a built in windoz one, try to also update java from my experience java is a very vital part of limewire

cydk84 September 2nd, 2004 07:33 AM

already done that

I've configured all the firewalls and downloaded the JAVA, again. I'm ready to uninstall the thing. I didn't do the free 30 day trial. I got the pay $1 a month. I don't know what else to do to it and none of the posts I've read and I've read a lot of them, I haven't gotten any closer to connecting
:(

found the problem, but can't fix

The firewall in XP will not hold the IP address in the advanced tab for the the firewall settings. It ignores the 127.0.0.1 that I put in and puts in VALUEDand then numbers after I exit the setup. It does it for both TCP and UDP.

Any suggestions?

What? Where did you get your LW from? There is a free version (the one called Basic) and a give-us-some-charity-money version (called Pro) which can be purchased at a little less than 19$. Both are available from the official Limewire site: www.limewire.com .
Any other site that offers lifetime memberships and 30-day trials is a scam. Read this to see what I mean.

PS: MWAHAHAHAHA! This is my 666th Post. Whoever reads it will get the sudden urge to run 15 laps around their neighborhood naked, screaming at the top of their lungs: "I'm the king of the world"

scam

I'm going to cancel that since I know now that LimeWire is free.

And no I don't think I'lll run 15 laps naked down the streeet. I'll let yo do that.

murasame September 3rd, 2004 03:08 PM

I've already done mine.

I bet you searched in Yahoo! for Limewire and clicked one of the sponsor results, right? ('cause Googling up "Limewire" gives as first result - no sponsor stuff- the official limewire. The sponsor ones at Yahoo! are scams. The real one is the first actual result, the one with 1. on its left)
