The same message as everybody else. I CANNOT CONNECT!!!! I joinned 3 days ago and spend my days trying to connect. I am not an expert in computing but I installed JAVA new version, checked and added Gnutella in my firewall (I don't understand it), remove Limewire program and installed it again..... What else can I do? I have got a Windows XP and I have a broadband connection 512K (I think). Please help!!!

Have you checked to see that LW is not blocked by a firewall? See this thread & its test & have a look at its link And also see this other thread about xp sp2.

I went under network connection and looks at the settings but how do I know if a firewall is blocking the connection. To be honnest I haven't a clue what I am doing. Can somebody take me step by step. thank you to anyone will be patient with me.:)

When LW is open, click Tools->Options & go to Bug report and click for an example. In the window that appears scroll down to the part that says: "Recieved incoming this session". If it says true then LW has no problem with firewalls, but if false then you have an issue.
