cant connect i just downloaded limeware, and it wont connect. Many people have been telling me that colleges diliberatly block this kind of software, as well as have thier own firewalls. Is there anyway to connect through a different port, and if so, what port is it, and how would i set it up??? Please help:( |
There is no simple way around a college block. |
You need to find out which ports they are blocking. If it's all ports then there's an issue. If they are specifically blocking p2p apps, it's a worse issue. |
ports any idea what port #s to try??? and how would i configure the new port to use with limewire??? i think they are blocking all p2p:(:( |
Ask around or just go and ask the IT department about it (if you think that they won't do anything to you). |
ports2 is there anyway that i can figure out what port another program uses and use that port instead. How would i find out what port another program uses??? |
The only two ways I can think of is to either go through all the trouble and dld and install other P2P apps to see if they connect, then (if you find one that connects) use these ports into LW, or asking around friends to see if they have managed to find a port or an app that will connect and asking them what port they are using. :( |
