Default OS X and Limewire

I have an iBook G4 with OS X 10.3.5 and I have just downloaded Limewire 4.0.8.

It will not connect me. I have tried deleting the preference folder as suggested and adding Gnutella to the firewall thing, but this has not helped.

I am currently residing in halls at University and I am connecting over their network, which I know little about. Is there anything I may need to ask them about what they may be blocking etc?

Or is there anything I can try myself to sort this out.

Thanks. Andy H

Well, this is probably bad news, but you must ask your IT department wether they are blocking P2P with a firewall or something.
Alternatively, you can ask them if they have a firewall up (they most likely do) and then ask them if port 6346 (the one LW is using by default) is blocked.
If it is, then ask for a non-blocked port (try and do that in, uh, a discreet manner. You don't wanna seem like some hacker who wants to take over the cyber-world from his campus). If they give you one, then go put that in LW (Limewire->Preferences->Advanced)
