Please help!

I have Mac 9.2.2 and I am behind a school firewall, and running the latest free version of Limewire. I can't connect at all, even changing the firewall port to various numbers. Is there a setup for Limewire that someone could recommend to be able to connect? Thank you very much for your assistance.

That's the issue! Many schools deliberately block p2p use. Make friends with one of the techs who work at the school. That's the best way. He can maybe find/open a port for you. What's more you should be careful, if the school finds out & it's against their rules they wouldn't be too happy with you.

School nets have firewalls up because they don't have unlimited internet access (most of them at the very least).
Try asking around people in campus to see if they can connect with P2P apps. If they can (apps like BitTorrent are excluded), then ask them if they'll tell you what port they are using. If they do, try that on LW.
