cant connect i have windows 2000, mcafee firewall, limewire latest version, and on a proxy server. limewire says that it supports proxy servers. however i cnt connect. any ideas????? |
Firewalls is not my area, but there are some instructions for mcAfee here: http://ts.mcafeehelp.com/displaydoc....egoryId=62889/ in the meantime I'll see if I can attract somebody's attention about proxies. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=28404 I think trap_jaw4 is the best person to ask about this. |
Still looking for answer I posted earlier, but no help. I have read through all the suggestions for LimeWire connection problems with no success. I have an Excellent Connection, but LimeWire still says I "Need More Resources". I connected for years using the same computer, same OS, on the same network. No changes have been made to the network or my computer during the perion LimeWire started to fail. I have deleted, removed, and downloaded evey patch, fix, and work around suggested to no avail. It will not work. I am using XP, no service patch, no new software, nothing on my machine has changed - except I can no longer use LimeWire. What could be the issue? I am failry computer savvy as I do develop web sites in CF, but I can't figure this one out to save my life. Can someone please help or are my LimeWire days over? |
Update your Java (if it needs it) & try out the beta 4.1.5 version. Sometimes the earlier versions start to struggle. The beta has solved some people's probs. See: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml or if you're a pro user, you'll find the beta pro version at the bottom of your personal dwnld page. I'm too happy with the beta version now to go back. |
