Question "Unable to find incoming port"?

Lately, I've been getting a pop-up error message that says something like, "Unable to find incoming port." It's a tall windowed box that lists all my LimeWire settings, and it says I may need to correct the Forced IP address.

Sure enough, when I review the settings shown in the error box, my Forced IP is listed as a bunch of #$*^@# characters. But I doubled-check in the regular Options setup and the IP shows up correctly. What gives? What's more, when this dialog pops-up, I'm also successfully downloading AND uploading files.

Is the Forced IP purposely obscured in the error box?
Is this error being triggered by a specific host reporting a problem?

Thanks for any help!

I'm still getting this on a regular basis. I did a screen capture of the message but don't see any way of posting it here.

Are any of the developers reading this? Do you want to see the error message I get on a regular basis?

You went to Tools:Options:Advanced and checked if forced IP is checked and correct? Did you try unchecking it, retyping it, or making sure port is 6346? Hopefully a real LimeWire guy will answer!

If you are having connection problems, which appears to be the case, then you could try out an alternate version of LimeWire. It was released specifically for connection-related difficulties. It shouldn't have the problem you are having now, but it will be slightly slower and the system tray icon may disappear on you.

Let us know if it worked, ok? :-)

Default Can't Find Port

I get the same error even while downloading other stuff. I select copy whatever is in that box that is part of the message. I then select okay. Sometimes I hit okay first. I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm just pushing buttons to get the message off my screen. Ican't tell if it affects any downloads or would be downloads.
