That sounds great! Nothing like having friends who are trained in the area of need. Identify all your connection devices; their types, capacities, etc. as well as the other things mentioned. ;)

IM CONNECTED!!

Hi

my friend came over last night and resolved the problem. he just reset the defaults. There was no firewall blocking me so dunno really. He also cleaned up my computer so all that should help.

thx for your patience. ;)

frustrated....is it worth all the trouble?

i think that a program should not have so many complications, so i'm just gonna try WinMX i guess. i have not posted many times, but have followed all these directions and have gone from not getting any connection, to a poor connection, then to excellent. I leave my computer for a half hour while downloading something, and i come back and it says limewire does not detect an internet connection (but there is) and firewall must be up (which it is not). Also says "TRUE" in example bug report. Any more suggestions before i start an anti-limewire forum?

looey78: If you want to go, go! (A grand total of 2 posts)

Else try these: (Optimising LW) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1

Try not force resuming files b/c that (if there's many) may put great stress upon your connection quality.

Thanks Lord of the Rings, I'll give those options a try. What does the number of my posts have to do with anything? I tend to READ all the posts before asking questions, so please forgive my lack of participation. I could see many others were having the same problems. BTW, I never force resume; figure if the system doesn't keep it going, there is a reason. Hence the term "force".

Thanks again for your help. If it works, I'll report back.
