USE TO be able to connect can't anymore

I still can't connect. I have windows XP service pack 1, DSL connection. Limewire use to work, and then i ran adware-SE personal on my computer and it wouldn't connect anymore. I dont use the Windows personal firewall, nor do i have any other firewalls installed. Ive tried everything. I dont know what else to do. I tried turning on the firewall and specifying the ports like it said to do on the Limewire firewall help page. And that still didn't work. It kept changing the name of the port from 127.0.0.1 to the name of my computer. Somebody help Quick.........

Do this test: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...757#post103757 & tell us whether your result is true or false. Also, do you have any other net hardware such as router? Have you insalled any softw recently? May I suggest you delete your LW preferences & then try again. (Make a note of all your settings 1st.) Prefs: Where to find them: Windows: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire

Ive done all of that already also. And it says False. But i disabled my windows firewall. And the last software that i installed was the Ad-Ware SE personal. When i open limewire, it just says connecting, but never connects.

Well if your test result is false it means there's something blocking your access or/& others access to you. Please specify all your connection devices (modem & routers), models, etc. & java & LW version. And where are you trying to connect from: home, work, school, etc. Wht type of firewalls do you have even though they're de-activated? Do you have the Norton package?

Yes i have norton but its disabled like the other firewalls, and im trying to connect from home. I have a DSL connection through sprint with 645 series DSL modem. Im using Limewire 4.1.8 and Java 1.4.2_05 build b04

I can't find the Sprint series listed in the most common for port forwding so at least view: (1) http://www.broadbandreports.com/foru...5210~mode=flat (2) http://www.broadbandreports.com/foru...rt=6~mode=flat (3) And this group (4) And also this one

Sounds as though everything else is ok.

My modem is a Sprint 645ME-A1 DSL modem. Im still confused about what i should be doing. Is there a way to start over completely. Because a few weeks ago, Limewire worked perfectly on my computer. I even tried to restore my system to a previous point, but it wouldn't restore.

Well, if you tried the delete prefs idea. Try the beta at http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml or the beta pro at the bottom of your personal dwnld page if you're a pro user. Otherwise follow thru the pages one by one of http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1 I'm sorry I can't find any simple directions of your Modem unless you apply the techniques yourself to the links I left.
