ISP is Cox Communications (high speed cable). As for the neighbor, I have no clue what they have. No luck with the 9999. I have reboot both modem and laptop, tried all above suggests again and still no luck. I am at a loss. Motorola said that the problem probably is with Microsoft. Any other things I can try? Any diagnostic tools available? thanks again... |
Of course, il you call Motorola they're gonna tell you it's microsoft. If you call MS, they'll say it's Motorola. Gotta love those technical support :( Ideally, you could try: 1)another computer with LW connected via the motorola modem to test if the problem is Microsoft 2)another modem borrowed from somebody to test if the modem is the problem (with your own computer) 3)connection to another ISP like via 56k modem (you can surely find AOL cds for free...) to see is Cox and/or the modem is the problem. Good luck, you'll need it! :p |
Exact same problem with Cox in Arkansas Until about a week ago LimeWire was working just fine for me, but now it seems Cox has found a way to keep us from connecting (for now at least). I don't know about you, but I'm a Cox high speed cable customer in Bentonville, AR, and it seems we both have the same problem. Cox also seems to have disabled the use (God only knows how) of bit torrent sharing. If anyone knows of a fix, please help us! |
I think I came across a page of complaint about Cox somewhere in my searches yesterday or before. You could always contact them & see whether they have any specific policy against p2p use. |
Slyk is reporting that MediaCom and Shaw users noticed bittorrent problems http://www.slyck.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8058 |
