tried everything
 

Hi tried all the stuff that this forum has suggested, and it all works, untill it dosen't. Nothing seems to stick.
I using XP i have the SP2 thingy and i have LW 4.2.3. I wish that there was a quick fix or some thing. :confused:

Can you give us some more details as to your setup?
1. Where are you connecting from (home, school, work, etc.)?
2. What is your modem-router brand name & model number?
3. What Firewalls do you have?

A. You are using XP so have you configured your firewall(s) for LW & Java to have full access: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

B. Update your Java: Java 1.4.2 (click on link)

C. Update your LW to 4.2.5: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

Have you searched the forum for SP2? There's both M$ & 3rd party patches for SP2 as well as other solutions. (We don't recommend people updating to SP2 unless they run a business or have a major network. SP2's not for the home user.) SP2 reduces connectivity & sers firewall to their default.
