cant connect i have a little more than a t1 connection, and i do not have a firewall up when im trying to connect to it... but it just wont connect, any ideas? |
We need details. Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. OS version, 2. What firewalls you have, 3. ram, 4. HDD space available, 5. Modem & router brand name & model numbers, 6. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? These details are vital if you want us to find out what your connection problem is. :) |
windows xp, t1 connection, 512 ram, 7 gigs free on hd(gamer lota games) home and i have a ZoneAlarm firewall but i dont have it on when i try to connect. cable modem surfboard SB4100, if thats what you ment |
I'm not sure whether that particular surfboard modem requires the forwarding of port 6346 or not. Some of their other models do require this. I'm sure it will say in your modem manual how to foreward a port if it has this capacity. Else you can ask your isp for instructions. For now you can do this: Force IP instructions & sample image & ensure your firewalls are set correctly whether they're in use or not: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml Dare I ask but who is your isp? Some isp's do limit p2p or worse. There's another 2 things you can try: Update Java: Java 1.4.2 (click on link) Delete your LW prefs called .limewire found here: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire |
