help connecting
 

i'm sorry if this has been posted before, but i'm a newbie to limewire and i can't connect. I have windows xp and norton internet security, also i'm not a genius with computers. When i'm open limewire it starts to connect right away but it only gets to the first bar in the bottom corner and it say qualty: connecting. I have waited for a long time and i have also went to file disconnect and then tried re-connecting several times. Can anyone help? thank you in advance.

What type of connection do you have? What brand name & model number of modem/router you use? Where are you connecting from (home, school, work)?

Give LW some time to attempt to connect.

i have dial up (56k) and i am trying to connect from home.

Have you updated your java: Java 1.4.2 (click on link)
You caqn try deleting LW's prefs folder called .limewire found here: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire
