connecting

I don't get the chance to download anything because I get a message saying " currently connecting to network, no results until fully connected." But I never do get fully connected!

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. OS version, 2. What firewalls you have, 3. ram, 4. HDD space available, 5. Connection type, 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers, 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
These details are vital if you want us to find out what your connection problem is.

Did you update your Java: http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...radejava.shtml

(A) Go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ (it should say test page was a success.) And tell us what happens.

(B) Have you configured your firewalls to allow both LW & Java full access? Instructions: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

Try these things:

1. Repair LimeWire using the Add/Remove Programs utility. Go to Control Panel then Add/Remove Programs & click on Limewire on the Change/Remove button & it comes up with options and one of them is Repair. Try this.

2. Right-clicking the Limewire icon and going to properties and changed compatability setting to Windows 2000.

3. Right-click on the Limewire icon on the desktop and click on Run as. Then it should come up showing the current user and then switch it over to Administrator.

4. Delete the LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!)

Well I've got the success on the test page. I've got java and configured Firewalls.
When I go to the final task and hit the change/remove button the only choice is to remove, it says nothing about repair.
So in the end I get the same message. Sorry
Chris

I can't help you further until you answer my earlier questions. I know little if nothing about your set up.

Perhaps I can review this when I come back online but at 1st glance: Many schools & school residences do nowadays block p2p.

1. Do this very simple test & tell us what happens; go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ (it should say Test page was a success.)

2. Go here: http://www.u.arizona.edu/~trw/games/nat_or_not.php & ignore everything you dsee except the grey part that talks about you. Just tell us what it says about NAT. Don't tell us enything else about what it says.

bava_bevu you still haven't answered all the questions I asked you. I need to know them if I'm to help you.

Yes Limewire works well on a no. of OS's (Operating Systems.)

bava_bevu look much more carefully when you try to repair LW. The option is there! LW MUST be turned off when you try! make sure you have exited LW from the program tray.

If you don't have this option then you must have installed LW using the international installer which used InstallAnywhere installer right?

In that case I'd suggest you uninstall it. Then install using the english version installer. This may well be a part of your issue b/c the international (multilingual) installer uses Java 1.3 which is not as effficient as the later versions of Java. Java is extremely important for LW to function correctly.

Below is how you would normally repair LW.
