Connection Problems

I have a seperate firewall running in addition to the windows XP firewall. I have configured it to allow Gnutella on both types of ports. I have also allowed Gnutella (on both ports) on the windows XP firewall. I still cannot connect. Then I deleted the directory, as recommended by the other thread -- i still can't connect. Please give advice, I think it still has to do with with my 2wire firewall for my network. Thanks

Same thing here - any suggestions appreciated

I am in the same situation - on running Limewire, it maintains "Connecting" status, never actually connecting.

I have Windows XP with Windows Internet Security Firewall OFF, Norton Personal Firewall OFF, and 2Wire ON but set to allow Gnutella (both TCP and UDP).

My computer has 512 MB of RAM and 8.49 GB of space open.

I have an ethernet DSL connection w/ SBC (2Wire 1000HW system). This is networked to 3 (sometimes 4 or 5) other computers by a wireless connection (so this computer has the main hub and is connected directly to it). It is a home connection.

Thanks

I can't find any mention of UPnP capability for 2Wire. So it looks like port forwarding may be necessary. That would mean setting up a static ip 1st, then forwarding a port for that particular computer. (Each comp on a network that also used LW would require a different port to be forwarded for it.)

1. Set up a static ip.
2. Forward port 6346: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

3. Within LW: Manual port forward instructions & sample image & 2 posts after that.

You can double-check to see if this port is open by using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

i´m using LW 4.9.7, my router is 2wire 1800HW

i´ve tried to portforward throug separte definitions for each protocol, then tried to do it like a single application with 2 definitions...

what i´m not doing?? what did i do wrong? or what can be happening?
