Limewire closes

I don't know what the problem is but when I open Limewire itconnects & everything but then it closes on it's own right away before I can do anything. Maybe it has something to do with my firewall but when I remove the firewall it still does it. I had it working once but then next time I went to start it up it did the same thing. Please help. I'm computer dumb.

Try these things one by one:

1. Repair LimeWire using the Add/Remove Programs utility. Go to Control Panel then Add/Remove Programs & click on Limewire on the Change/Remove button & it comes up with options and one of them is Repair. Try this.
2. Right-clicking the Limewire icon and going to properties and changed compatability setting to Windows 2000.
3. Update your Java version 1.5 (take the JRE)
4. Right-click on the Limewire icon on the desktop and click on Run as. Then it should come up showing the current user and then switch it over to Administrator.
5. Delete the LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!)

Actually, it's still doing it ....it worked at first but the songs that were downloaded wouldn't play...after I closed & restarted it started closing on me again after connecting. It's also saying now that I don't have permission to send files to the incomplete folder or something like that. Very frustrating. Any more ideas??

Oh when i deleted the .limewire folder it prompted me to reinstall then that folder was there again???

When you delete the LW Prefs folder it's only temporary.

Yeah try installing again. Use the Remove control panel 1st. Make sure you install it into an area you have full permissions on your computer.
