Try these things:
1. Repair LimeWire using the Add/Remove Programs utility. Go to Control Panel then Add/Remove Programs & click on Limewire on the Change/Remove button & it comes up with options and one of them is Repair. Try this.
2. Right-clicking the Limewire icon and going to properties and changed compatability setting to Windows 2000.
3. Update your Java version 1.5 (take the JRE)
4. Right-click on the Limewire icon on the desktop and click on Run as. Then it should come up showing the current user and then switch it over to Administrator (but onoly if you are the admin of your comp.)
* What type of wireless connection do you have? What brand & model no.'s of modem/router?
* You can configure your XP firewall to allow LW full access here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml
As far as Norton AV goes I'm not sure. Does it have any blocking of apps? This might not apply: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...627#post103627

* AV shouldn't affect connection but, Norton AV did for this person: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5105#post95105
