AOL9 to Wanadoo - won't connect

Can't connect & have been trying for days. Have tried all recent fixes suggested in this forum, including changing Norton firewall to 'permit all'. I did have AOL9 dial-up & because so slow downloading music (but at least a connection was made!) moved to Wanadoo Broadband.

All I get now is message "LW is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network". The logo spins slowly round for a little while (presume it is trying to connect?) then it stops - and nothing more happens.

Am getting so fed up - I have already paid for this and also ordered and paid for Pro. I would really appreciate any help you can give me to get this sorted.

I have newish PC, Windows XP (Home). Norton Anti-virus. Wanadoo ISP (broadband) & Java 2.

Lots of thanks in advance. Bettina

Hmm? You have already paid for this and paid for Pro?
Either you got scammed, or you paid for Pro twice.

Could you tell us which fixes from the sticky entitled "For those who can't connect" you've tried already?

Hi. I paid Christoper Carson $59.85 and LimeWire LLC $18.88 - guess the 1st one was a mistake! Also paid both via Paypal

I have gone into Norton and selected 'Permit'
I have Java 2 which as I have only recently downloaded - presume it is the right version
Have deleted .limewire
Have repaired LimeWire using the Add/Remove programs utility.
Have changed compatability setting to Windows 2000
Have switched to Administrator

Just seems strange that everything worked until I changed from AOL to Wanadoo and from dial-up to broadband???

Much appreciate your help.

So you also configured your XP firewall: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

What brand & model number of modem/router do you use?

Your XP, does it have the SP2 update. If yes, is it since you installed it you've been having problems?

By the way, if you are now a legitimate pro user, why not try the LW beta 4.3.3 This version fixes a no. of issues (some major). You can downld it from the bottom of your personal downld page.

Downloading LW beta 4.3.3. has worked and I can now connect and start downloading music.

Thank you so much. Am so relieved - thought I was never going to get there!
