Does anyone here know anything about this (and understand it better then I do?)

I found this page while searching for info to hopefully help me get better results with this file sharing since I am at a school in China so I don't have any control over their routers and such. But this line on this first page caught my eye:

"An Internet where everyone can create and consume network services, even if they have a dynamic IP address or no IP address, are behind a Network Address Translation (NAT) device, or blocked by an ISP's firewall."

http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2...2psockets.html

Hopefully someone here can shed more light on it for us. Thanks

Looks like an interesting article for a java programmer. The article gives contact information on the last page: perhaps your situation will interest the author enough that he will help if you contact him.

The article is about being able to locate a computer and connect to it, even if it is behind a firewall and/or has a dynamic ip.

It won't solve any problems you have with LimeWire or other file-sharing apps.

Hmm, well I thought that was the problem with me, and many others I read about in here, that are (like me) at a school where we can't access the routers or (NAT devices) or what-ever, that prevents people from being able to upload from us?
