Angry Unable to connect

I too am an aol user. I downloaded the windows version of Limewire several months ago and have been using it successfully until 2 days ago. I have not changed my settings (connected via a modem). Suddenly, I am simply unable to connect to any hosts. I cannot determine the problem. I attempted to download the alternate version with no success. I get an error or page cannot be displayed message. I love Limewire but am frustrated by this...can anyone help???

Maybe you should contact the AOL helpline if they closed down the ports or something...just as an idea

Default ISP Blocking?

I know for certain that my ISP is blocking me.

I have 2 ISP's.

One is monthly subscription and very cheap, the other charges by the minute (Phone Bill - Wow)

So I downloaded LimeWire and tried to connect with the monthly subscription ISP - I tried loads of times but never got any connections.

I remembered seeing a post on the forum which said "ISP is blocking me".

So I thought I'll give it a go and test it out - then I changed my connection to the by the min one and bingo, right away I was connected. But the cost - Yuk.

I rang my monthly ISP and they said they were having trouble with the server and it would be fixed in a week. They also said they do not have a policy to block file sharing. I asked them outright.

That was back in June - I've never been able to connect through them - ever.

Consequently - I don't download/upload many files.

I've thought of changing - but I'll wait to see which way the wind blows - savvy!
