![]() Cannot connect to any of the gnutella networks. I've tried bearshare, limewire, and another. I did download Imesh which uses the Imesh network and the gnutella network and it would connect to Imesh but not gnutella. I have opened port 6346 and I've tried disabling the windows firewall as well as every other recommendation on this board. I've also checked with the system administrator and there are no firewalls up on the LAN against P2P sharing. My roomate connects to kazaa with no problem but I have not been able to connect to that either. Thanks System: -Windows XP -Windows Firewall (SP2 installed but I tried uninstalling and still nothing) - 256MB RAM -Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller on LAN -Conexant SmarhHSFi V92 56k DF PCI Modem -20GB Free -java 1.3 w/ updated 5.0 -Limewire 4.6.0 but have run multiple versions with no luck. -Connecting on LAN in an apartment complex Last edited by rock454; February 28th, 2005 at 04:53 PM. |

![]() Room-mate? Sounds like a school dorm or something ... is it? If it is then that might be why you can't connect. Many school dorms block p2p using various techniques as well as special anti-p2p softw. But if your friend can connect ... it's something heard many times of before where one can but the others can't. Simple test: Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say ‘Test Page was a Success’. What happens when you go there? Check with your equipment to see if it's UPnP capable. If it is, then your LW set to UPnP should overcome any nat devices. Force IP instructions & sample image & 2 posts after that. BUT at the moment, LW 4.6 has a bug with UPnP run on a lan. See: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=34327 Make sure your XP & any other firewalls are set to allow LW: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml |
