Limewire pro- can't connect The connection bar in the bottom left corner is red and is displaying connecting, but will not connect. Help! Where is the Directory located to delete and three files come up when I double=click onthe file suswani suggested. Need details. thanks. |
I thought the directions & location were on page 1 of that thread. But anyway, for windows see here: Fixes for Limewire Also can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) 2. What firewalls you have? 3. ram? 4. HDD space available? 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) It will show both the LW & Java version. 9. Is this the 1st time you've used LW? And is this the 1st problem of this kind? Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say ‘Test Page was a Success’. What happens when you go there? |

Alltel changed modems and it no longer works I did the test and the screen says, "PAGE NOT AVAILABLE"> Thanks for your help. Dingo |
Test page not available?! Ouch! That means that port 6346 is totally blocked. The reason port 6346 is blocked it either due to your isp provider or your equipment (so it might not be the only thing your isp changed.!) I have 2 thoughts here. One would mean forwarding a port for your modem. The other is to try a different port no. 1. Lets see how this goes. Go to LW's menu Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & change the listening port number to 4915. Press Apply button. Then go to File>Disconnect. Wait a minute, then go back & select File>Connect. Give it some time to connect. Please tell us how this goes. |
COnnection-Lord of the Rings I called my ISP and they had a firewall that blocked it. I am now connected at the Turbo-charged level. Thanks for your help! |
