Turbocharged???

Hi,
I`ve been using limewire for a long while now and my connection to the network has always been "Excellent...very strong" but just earlier today for about half an hour all the 5 green boxes in the bottom right turned blue and it said "Turbocharged"....what is this about? How do I regain this status?
Thanks ever so much.
Take Care.
Alex

Turbocharged is usually reserved for the LimeWire Pro edition. If you have Pro You should be connected to the network this way. LimeWire Basic which is free only connects with "excellant".

No,you donīt have to have LimeWire Pro to get the TurboCharged speed. It is acting rather strange cause sometimes it gets connect to the network very fast like as soon as I start LimeWire it says "excellent".But it also happens that it is connecting to network very slowly...Fair...Good...Excellent...and after like 15 minutes of a slow connecting it reaches TurboCharged speed and stays that way all day which is great cause it really does work better. To gain this speed all you have to do is restarting LimeWire again and again till you finally reach the TurboCharged connection...thatīs what I think.

Well, hang me with barbed wire & call me stupid!! i paid 18.88 through LimeWire for what they told me would be a better connection rate & 6 months of free updates. Damned if I get that stupid again, especially for the D/L rates I've seen. I have a cable connection and only D/L at 1 to 5Kb/S. Got up to 73 or so once. If this is really the best the P2P community has to offer I'd hate to see the worse. I understand approximately 70% of the users of the network don't share. Sad. My last post. Going to where I can find and D/L better.

From my limited understanding of LimeWire this is an automatic feature. In the basic version you connect to 3 UltraPeers(Excellent), in the Pro version you connect to 5 UltraPeers (TurboCharged).

Now if your connection is good enoungh LimeWire may make you an UltraPeer with Peers and leafs connected, when it is needed by the network. Hence the turbocharged in the basic version.

Normally for this to happen your ISP must not block/filter p2p applications, and LimeWire should be configured for optimal performance.

You can also disable or enable this feature in LW tools>options>speed
