help cant connect tried everything i have dsl zone alarm and windows 98 and am not able to connect. have tried all advice your web page has to offer from the help page about zone alarm to deleting file c:win.limewire and all to no effect. I dont even get a pop up window to ask if i want to allow limewire or not. all of my other programs such as msn messenger have pop ups that ask for admitance but i dont get jack w/ lime wire and i have paid for pro. So needless to say i am very unhappy right now. It didn't work so i uninstalled it and tried basic and it doesnt work either. Please help me out. |
Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed & updating your java; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) 2. What firewalls you have? 3. ram? 4. Hard Disk space available? 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. |
as above i stated i have broadband DSL, Windows 98 and my firewall is Zone Alarm. I already deleted the .limewire folder to no effect as i also stated above. and all of the other things are fine my comp usage, ram etc. is all fine never had a problem before. what i cant figure out is y limewire isnt even trying to connect. cuz if it was a message from zone alarm would tell me but nothin happens. |
Well if you've tried all the advice from the forum & nothing's worked then seek help from customer support which you paid for. This is a big forum with lots of info but it nothing's good enough then go back to the people you bought it from. We're only volunteers here. We don't get paid. And if you've configured your firewall as we often describe how to & have done everything then I feel sorry 4 u. lol hahahahhaha I'll go waste my time on someone else who hasn't searched thru the entire forums for help & needs some help instead of saying they've tried it all. lol  |
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/announ...php?forumid=22 It appears you haven't read the forums enough otherwise you would have seen and read the above link. I agree with LotR. I'm off to try and help someone who sincerely needs it. We are volunteers, and LotR is one of the best!!!! You messed up big time!!!! |
