Downloading Speed When i first downloaded Limewire i could download a song at least at the minimum speed of 60kb/sec. For the past 2 weeks i have been having problem with downloading songs/videos. I have no idea on whats going on. I know its not my connectiong to Limewire because it always states that im my quality is EXCELENT. Can someone please help me out here. Im from Malaysia. Im on ADSL 1mb/sec What could be the problem ? |
Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire |
i done all the suggestions which listed down here but still couldnt figure out the solution for me >><< my currently downloading speed is only 1kb/s which normally is 30babove/s. |
same her man , its still the same for me. i followed all the suggested above and it still doesnt work like it used to. |
1. Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (Whilst this was written by a mac osx user the same principle applies. 2. Also don't use the Resume button on all incomplete files. This will also stress LW & your comp. If you use Resume/Find sources then just apply it to a couple or so at one time. 3. Some hints: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities. eg: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...028#post116028 |
im still having the same problems , connection to LW is not the problem , searching for downloads is not the problem but downloading what i want is a BIG problem. my downloads have not gone up more then 1kb/sec. *note that im using 1mb/sec Broadband* |
Hmmmm If you have done Everything LOTR has suggested. You might check your firewall configurations just to make sure that the settings haven't changed. If you had to do a manual port forward in LW make sure your settings there are still correct. The last thing is check with your Internet Service Provider and see if they are blocking/filtering the ports LimeWire uses. Usually ports 6346 or 6348. You can also ask them if they are filtering/blocking p2p applications/programs. Of course your Internet Service may deny blocking/filtering p2p applications or the ports used by them. |
I experience very slow connections. Limewire is set to listen to port 6346. I am not behind a firewall and tried the 6346 test http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ and passed it. if my ISP is blocking the 6346 port wouldn't the 6346 test fail? |
