![]() I've tried everything in the Limewire help section, but to no avail. It doesn't go any further than "Connecting" leaving my searches worthless and a waste of time. Nothing. I've got a brand new iBook G4 1.2 256M 30G HD connecting via Ethernet to a Cable Modem. Of course, running OS X. Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Court Japan |

![]() Hmmm I'm not a MAC user but might be a firewall in your modem causing the problem. Here is helpful link for port forwarding. http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm |

![]() I have the same problem ... only I have windows xp. I don't know what is wrong with it. It worked the first day I downloaded it. I tried everything. I unloaded it and loaded it again and I did the firewall thing and the connection to the internet is fine. Just not on limewire. How do I get it to connect fully? Here os a pic of what it looks like.... Hope someone can help me.. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; April 24th, 2005 at 09:11 AM. |

![]() japes try this: Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire (I know you said "Tried removing the preference settings with the jar file in these forums.") 1. Try a different port setting: Go to LW's Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & change the listening port to 80 & press Apply button. You may need to close & re-open LW for it to take effect. If it was working a few days ago & suddenly stopped working & deleting the LW preferences folder didn't work then it looks like your ISP Provider has put filters in place to stop you using p2p programs. This is becoming more frequent nowadays as isp's deal with heavy net traffic. 2. Try a proxy: A Fix for those whose ISP's block Limewire pages 1 & 2 which has a link to alternative instructions. ![]() Before I try these alternative solutions again, I'd like to ditto keirinbike's experience, for nothing has changed at my end, except since 9something last night, 4/25/05, I haven't been able to get past 'connecting'. More here |
