1. What firewalls you have?
2. ram?
3. Hard Disk space available?
4. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
5. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
6. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
7. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
8. Who is your isp provider?
9. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.

From what I can find out 'some' but not all Speedstream devices use UPnP. Make a note of all your settings & try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

i tried what you showed me but i couldnt do the thrid step because i have limewire 4.8.1. However, i went on but it still isn't connecting. Should i download an older version of Limewire and see if that works?
