Default connection problems(wow, de ja vu?)

I am using a computer on a network with a router. I have connection problems, Limewire (Pro, 4.8.1.1) gets stuck on "connecting...". I have configured my router to forward ports 6346 to my LAN ip address, udp+tcp, and have told Limewire to use the manual port forward option(port 6346 duh). The windows XP pro sp2 firewall thing has been disabled, still it wont connect. Shareaza wont either. I have installed Limewire on another computer on this network, same problem, can't be the computer thats messed up. I have done that Limewire.com firewall instruction, still wont connect. I have Xp pro sp2, running on a 512mb ram 2.8ghz processor computer. Gnutella 2 and Gnutella 1 just wont connect, however I configure my router. Is my ISP blocking Limewire ports? I've tried forwarding 6667 to my LAN ip and configuring Limewire to listen on that port and use that port, no effect. Why can't I connect?!?!?!

I'm at home, my ISP is PlusNet(in the UK)I read the other thread that said what isps are blcoking but i didnt understand the solution, i couldn't find a port that i could connnect to on that test page(www3.limewire.com: port),every port I tried wouldn't load. Do I need to go onto my router every time i try a port and allow the port on the router? What do I do? PlusNet never used to block, I've had Limewire and PlusNet working in perfect harmony for ages!

It appears your ISP has started blocking p2p programs on all ports.

You can check out this link. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...hlight=PlusNet

Only solution I can see is to change your Internet Service Provider. Don't like being the bearer of bad news but .....

Good luck you might find an open port, but other members have been trying with little success. Every time they find one the ISP shuts it down.

You can use the forum search function upper right, between f.a.q. and home. To further search this topic.

My friend on plusnet is using Limewire fine, have they just caught onto me and blocked me or something? He's using settings I have tried, he has a router too and I know it's not my router thats messed 'cos I've configured it in every possible way

That is quite possible. I don't know how or what they may be using to block ports with. Most likely some sort of software, that detects the use of p2p applications.
