Help!

I've used Napster and iTunes before, so i dont know why i cant connect to Limewire! i bought Limewire Pro, and i open it and it just keeps at the "connecting" phase forever. it never logs on. i've never made any sort of ID for myself, like you do on kazaa, i dont know if i was supposed to have. Also, i tried going through switching that UDP thing or whatever through my firewall. I have Windows and we use "SpySweeper". If i cant get it to work, i want to know also how i could get my money back. Thanks...

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?

Greetings BritneeL17

I use SpySweeper it is not a firewall. It just checks your machine for spyware.

I normally don't use it, as I have found spybot search and destroy does an effective job for this, and is free.

Are you running sp2 with your windowsXP. It has a firewall that you may have to configure to allow LW access. Instructions here.http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

What is the modem type and model no.?

It also might be a good idea to udate your Java.

i did all that stuff, and it still isnt working. i have a compaq presario, if thats what your asking for. a lot of the time, when i click on limewire to see if its working, it reinstalls. like i have to select my language and stuff like that. only sometimes, but certainly after i have installed it. its really confusing.

your modem/router is the box you use to connect to the internet.

It should say who makes it, and if you look at it it should have a model no. on it.

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is who provides you with internet access.
