Unhappy Overwhelming Ethernet Card??

I've seen numerous posts about the blue screen of death or the computer restarting. For me this is only happening when I use Limewire AND leave the computer inactive. If I am using the computer while downloading, there's not a problem.

According to the error message from MS, the problem is with my Netgear Ethernet Router FA311. Many people have suggested updating the drivers which I tried to do but they 're already updating using Windows XP SP2.

Now, my IT guy says that the problem is that Limewire is overwhelming the cheap *** NIC.

What does everybody think?

BSD can be for a no. of reasons such as graphic cards, cpu ... so LW might trigger it but the problem exists there & you would eventually see it happening with other apps also.

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user?
11. Graphics card type & driver model?

* Do you use a screensaver? If yes try disabling it & see if that makes a difference. (which also semi-relates to graphics card set up possibility.)
