!!HELP!! LW loads, then hides in the Taskbar...
 

Hey all,

I have been using LW for quite a long time now, it is a great program and has been working great up until last week.

The 'Limewire" loading box appears, it says its loading the download window and such, then it goes to the taskbar, which it is suposed to, but the actual window does not appear.

I can close the taskbar icon to the system tray, but the window never is displayed. I have tried restarting the computer, and re-installing the software...what should I do now?

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.
11. a) Were you able to use LW before this started happening? b) At which point in time did it start happening?

2. Norton Internet Security
3. 1024mb PC3200 RAM
4. 2 x 80GB ata HDDs
5. broadband- cable
6. Terayon Cable modem, Linksys Wireless-B Router (2 other PCs attached) ( I dont think this is a connection problem, my internet and all other programs are fine)

8. LW 4.8.1, Java 1.5.0_02
9. Shaw Cable Canada
10. This a new problem with an experienced user.

Make a note of all your LW settings. Then try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire
