Shutting down limewire

I am suddenly experiencing difficulty shutting down Limewire after disconnecting.
This problem seems to have started after a routine software update, a couple of days ago. Yesterday, I was unable to force quit Limewire to shut down, and resorted to closing the computer with the power button,(I'm using a new G5).
Now it is doing the same again - sticking on the little window with the rotating blue and white thread running across the lower half, with the words 'Please wait while Limewire shuts down'

Has any one any suggestions please?

I presume you have the apple java fix that came out a few weeks back. I might suggest you make a note of all your LW settings & then delete your LW preferences whilst LW is closed. Hopefully that will set LW back up. LW preferences are found here: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

Also set your LW to shutdown to immediately. Go to LW's prefs>Shutdown.

After a software update if issues arise with programs it can sometimes be wise to do a safe start & repair permissions. See: SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions
