Keeps disconnecting

I am running XP. Whenever I have Limewire open, it runs for awhile and then disconnects, along with my connection to the internet. I also have a wireless router connecting another computer. Is there any kind of fix to this problem?

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. Is your modem/router a USB device?
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. Is your modem/router a USB device? both the modem and router are USB
2. What firewalls you have? I shut all firewalls down when downloading. I am running AVG antivirus.
3. How much ram? 512 MB RAM
4. Hard Disk space available? Plenty
5. Connection type? cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? modem is an RCA, not sure of a model; router is a Linksys Wireless-G
7. Where are you trying to connect from? home
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? Limewire 4.8.1 and Java 1.4.2
9. Who is your isp provider? Mediacom
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user? Benn using P2P programs for years. This problem recently popped up. Another problem that just popped up is that some of my files in my shared folder are red.

I have this same problem. Same router as you. Comcast ISP. I fixed it by

Tools > Options > +Advanced > Firewall Config > Under Router Configuration, check Do Nothing box > restart limewire

However my problem with this is that it seems to lessen average download speed. While being able to download for as long as i want and surf the web is better than only being able to download for about 5 - 15 minutes at a time and have no http access, I would prefer being able to download at the speeds I know my internet is capable of.
