will not connect
 

I am running Windows 98 and my ISP is SBC. I am able to open LimeWire to the point where it says "connecting" then it just disappears from my screen. If I am not connected to the internet, it will not connect of course, but it does not disappear. Does anyone have a "fix" for this?

Try some of the options here: Fixes for Limewire Keep in mind your Java version because sometimes Java 1.5 behaves better on some people's systems whereas Java 1.4.2 behaves better on others. If you have Java 1.5 then perhaps uninstall it using Add/Remove programs control panel & then install the other java. But don't install it over the net! 1st downld & save the installer to your comp. & then install it.
