yeah easily available to download but other problems. |
Within my Fixes For Limewire link there's links to both Java 1.4.2 & Java 1.5 (but not the most recent.) You can search the Java site for versions of Java. |
Limewire I recently installed the latest version of LimeWire. The problem is it won't load or start (I dont even get a screen at least). When I click on the icon it loads for a couple of seconds but all of a sudden it unexpectedly quits and a window pops up saying if I would like to report a bug to apple...I tried so many things like, installing/uninstalling the software many times, installed the latest version of Java, trying to install LimeWire software on a friends computer which is the same as mine..that didn't work either and I even followed its LimeWire troubleshooting, ALL OF IT...even that didn't work! I don't know if it's my computer or the software, please help me! FYI: I have a G3 ibook and a Mac OSX 10.3.9 and the latest version of Java. |
Eric808 the usual issue that causes that for OSX is the Java. OSX's Java is not the best to say the least. And often what happens is updates via the net cause the Java to be broken or the update has bugs. Two answers I can think of are to repair your permissions: SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions & re-installing Java using the Standalone installer (ie: you downld the installer & install it manually.) Have a look here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36377 I'm not sure which Java installer you should use in this case, there's 2. You said you'd been to the LW site but did you see the link for Mac OSX issues with their Java? That was an issue with one of the security updates that also included Java as part of the installation but it caused issues. ie; You have a choice of using this http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...update142.html or another one you'll find somewhere in the other link I gave. |
I downloaded Java 1.4.2 and still i get the "Loading user Interface" message...*sigh*:( |
1 Attachment(s) Hey i think i might know why... I think the problem is my video card... the computer says that some applications may not work because they are increasing virtual memory? I'll try to get a new video card, but meanwhile, can u give me some other options? |
