Did you install any other software recently or did you open any executables from Gnutella?

Bunty June 29th, 2005 02:55 PM

Hi Trap_Jaw..........thanx for the response. I haven't installed anything new that I know of. I do use AOL as my isp though, but I don't think that's the problem.... I really am stuck with this one. :(

Trap_Jaw........what are Gnuttella executables ?

trap_jaw4 June 29th, 2005 03:42 PM

.exe, .vbs, .pif or .bat files if you are using windows. They may contain viruses. - Another thing you may try is deleting your "limewire.props" file containing all your settings or uninstalling/reinstalling LimeWire.

Thanx for that - I have just deleted the props file and uninstalled/re-installed and re-booted my laptop - but still the same !

Any other suggestions ??

that's pretty bad, I suppose there is no quick solution then...

Laptop crashes

I just started having the same problem with my HP laptop. LimeWire has been running fine for the past six months and all of a sudden, boom, big crash when LimeWire is up and connecting to the network. Tried re-installing LimeWire 4.8.1, no change. Windows took me to the Intel website to get a new drive for the wireless adaptor, but that didn't change things either.

Only recent new program is Real Player V10.

Norton hasn't found any viruses, no firewall issues.

The blue screen of death references drivers_irql_(not clear from here on out)less_more... (something like that)

Would love to hear what the deal is...

Hi TooTallTom..........

Well, after what seemed like ( and probably was!) hours of fiddling around, my problem was basically that I needed to upgrade my Intel Wireless network driver. I have a Toshiba laptop and went onto their website and downloaded the latest drivers. I now have Intel(R)PRO/Wireless 2200BG installed and everything is working fantastically !!

:D

Try the same and hopefully it will work for you too........

Wireless driver

Thanks Bunty...

I have already installed the new Intel driver, but it keeps going BSOD (blue screen of death) on me
