![]() Hi, I'm having problems connecting to limewire, It says connecting and there is only one green bar and the rst are red. I have tried several things like I have added limewire and gnutella as exceptions on the firewall list and I have also disabled the firewall and I have also added gnutella in the firewall setting and put in the ip address as **** and I clicked the tcp and the udp button and I have set the internal and external ports as 6346. Nothing seems to work!!!!! My OS is XP sp2, i have disabled the firewalls, have 384 of ram, 80 gig hard drive, dsl connection type, speedstream modem model 5200, connecting from home, limewire version 4.8.1, my isp provider is alltel.net. I would appreciate any help with this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Last edited by Lord of the Rings; July 2nd, 2005 at 04:06 PM. |

![]() LOL to connect better.. I suggjest you go to www.limewire.com and download lime wire again... then if you really want to.... when you can download again... go to programs, and download pro off limewire... then get it set up... |

![]() I don't know whether your modem utilises UPnp, but just in case it doesn't you might be advised to forward a port. The most important thing here is to set up a static ip 1st & get it right or else it won't work! The steps: 1. Set up a static ip 2. Forward port 6346 using these instructions: http://www.portforward.com/efficient/5200.htm & the instructions for setting up a static ip are included! 3. Within LW: Manual port forward instructions & sample image & 2 posts after that. By the way: Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) (Win XP has its own firewall. To disable it; go to the control panel, double click on Windoze Firewall, check the disable box) But you should have at least one active firewall for your own protection. Get a hold of these recommended utilities which work safely with LW & do not give improper readings!: ad-ware (FREE) Spybot - Search & Destroy (FREE) Peerguardian (FREE) |
