Default Intermitent Connection

I'm having issues connecting to Limewire 4.8.1 Here is my info

1. OS version? W2K
2. What firewalls you have? None
3. How much ram? 512 MB
4. Hard Disk space available? 66 GB
5. Connection type? cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys CAble Modem, wrtg54 router
7. Where are you trying to connect from home
8. What version of Limewire4.8.1
9. Who is your isp provider? Comcast
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Experienced

I've set port forfareding for port 6346 on the router. It worked one time and then stopped working. NOw all I get is "Limewire is not able to connect" when I try to search.

Any suggestions?

And I go to the url http://www3.limewire.com:6346 and I get "Your test worked! "

I am connecting after uninstalling and downloading and getting a "unable to connect to limewire" in the middle of a download.

Actually most of the Linksys modems/routers use UPnP (except for the older models.)

The most important step in forwarding a port is the 1st step; setting up a static ip. It sounds like you did it incorrectly which is why it only worked temporarily until your ip address changed. I'd suggest you cancel your forwarding & redo it.
