IT DOES CONNECT BUT I CAN'T DOWNLOAD - Please I beg for your help!!

I have been searching over and over through threads for a solution to my problem and I see many people have it happening the same but no one gets an answer. :(

MY PROBLEM IS that I do connect to the Internet and all... but when I make a search and find the song I want to download, hitting the DOWNLOAD BUTTON doesn't do anything! It doesnt start downloading the song at all. I dont get any error message and I see ALL GREEN bars complete, which means Limewire it is connected. How do I fix this problem? Please help me! :(

Info about my computer:
- Running Windows XP SP2
- Windows Firewall active (but allowing Limewire to work)
- Zone Alarm active (but allowing Limewire to work)
- ADSL connection of 520 Kb and my ISP has a proxy to connect to the net. If I disable it, I can't surf. It works with Port 80.

That's all I know... :(

Well I did a little searching for a salution to your problem but like you I was unable to find one. I have seen this problem reported reciently but I do not know of a way to fix it. Sorry by the way you should give what version of limewire 4.9.11 you are using they change quite rapidly some times and java version.

In your Windows firewall settings, Make sure you have enabled both TCP and UDP settings using port 6346

I had the same problem, tried all the firewall stuff, and nothing. So I deleted Limewire. I would love to use it if there is a fix.

I just saw (reread) your post. You say you have both windows and zonealarm firewalls as "ACTIVE". Software firewalls when ran in combination can cause a conflict. If you have your ZoneAlarm as an "ACTIVE" firewall, make the windows firewall "INACTIVE". This will not cause a security issue. Try it and let me know. Also be sure you have LimeWire Pro or Basic installed (from the LimeWire website of course) version 4.9.11. LimeWire uses Port 6346. Make sure you have this port enabled.
