Connection Problem

I'm on a network, the master computer can connect but mine doesnt. I have all the settings right but I still can't connect. All my settings are exactly the same as the masters'. Still no connection. Please help me!!! My port is 6346, just like everyone says to set it as and it still doesnt work.

I can't connect, and it doesn't seem like limewire even looks for hosts. I've added all the gnutellanets, but when I click connect the light just flashes green once and then goes to red. I keep the connection window open and it doesn't display anything to indicate that it's trying to connect to any of the hosts. What gives?

I use limewire PRO under mac os 9.1 on a powerbook G4, on a network which allows P2P file sharing.

No luck at all getting mine running. Been that way all this week. :(

Come on Lime Wire. Fix this crap.

Connecting Limewire

I'm certainly confused about connecting Limewire.

No matter which hosts I try to connect to, I get about one or two seconds of connection, then it's dropped. What I find most baffling is that downloads are going on in the background without being connected - that doesn't make sense to me!

I originally got a connection straight away today, but since the connection was 'reset by peer'; nowt :-(

I've tried removing the quick connections, downloading the .net file, using the alternative hosts (e.g. bearshare), but nothing makes a difference...

I hope you find a solution to your problems!

What do you mean by "reset by peer"? Do you mean the connection was stopped by the remote host?

The .net file isn't a newer one. This one is from this morning (CET), but I don't think it will work, since it doesn't contain very many ip addresses.

First try entering router4.limewire.com : 6346 in the connections tab manually ( or 64.61.25.171 : 6346 if your DNS is down).
Did you try restarting LimeWire? - If it still doesn't connect, - check your connection first and then you may put the blame on LimeWire.

It's definitely LimeWire. Won't work for anything. :(

Were you able to connect to router4.limewire.com? Try telnetting to router4.limewire.com port 6346. - If you can't, your ISP probably blocks it.

Yes - the remote host dropped the connection.

That url does not work for me(?)

Aha! Thank you - that gave me some connections straight away. BTW, I am not blaming Limewire! I did not indicate that in my post ... I think that the problem's net-based, not client based. Given the amount of useless gack clogging up the internet, I'm rather impressed it works at all.

Besides; having to portion out blame is a rather sad way of being, methinks ... I tend not to subscribe to that.

This is my gnutella.net file's correct address::

ftp://whitedragon.dyndns.org/gnutella.net

(mail to gregorio@gmx.li if unavailable)

Download it and copy it into your limewire directory (C:\program files\LimeWire). That should enabling you to connect if the pong caches (router.limewire.com etc.) don't get you connected.

Tried it. Didn't help.
