another specific connection problem As many before me my Limewire states that I am behind a firewall..... I have done the following: 1) went to the start button 2) Went to settings ---> control panel 3) To internect connnections. 4) Right clicked on my internet connections ----> to "Properties" 5) Clicked the tab that says "sharing" 6) Checked the box that says Enable internet connection sharing for this connection. 7) *** PROBLEM OCCURS HERE **** Problem A) I would like to choose Local Area Connection 2 because that is my connection. However, it only gives me the two the choose from "Local Area connection" and "Local Area connection 3" (which is my Blue toothe connection). Problem B) If I choose "Local Area Connection" I get the following.... "A unexpected condition occured. Not all of your requested changes could be made." So I 'X' that out and get, "An error occured.... Internet connection sharing cannot be enabled. THe LAN connection Seclected as the private network is either not present or is disconnected fromt he network. Please ensure that the LAN adapter is connected before enabling internet connection sharing." If I choose "Local Area Connection 3" Everything goes ok - but still no changes in my Lime wire..... What should my remote server port # be..... What should my Incoming response ports be? I am using Microsoft 98... I am using a blekin wire less card, and a router that is connected to a mac. Please look at my profile for the numbers for the wireless card and router. Ugh. I have spent $45.00 dollars on Lime wire. Thus far I have spent a handful of hours attempting to place my $45.00 to work. Right now it has been a WASTE of cash. PLEASE HELP. Its getting rediculous. Please instruct me like a 5 year old is using the computer. I do not like what a static IP address is... I NEED STEP BY STEP DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO FIX THIS! Thanks Becky |
Well the basic version of LimeWire is free. Might want to check out this link. http://forums.gnutelliums.com/showth...threadid=28751 You can download the free basic version from this link. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml |
That comment has nothing to do with my question.... I am looking for help with my connection. You link does nothing to help with my connection problem.. WHY CAN I NOT SEEM TO GET ANY HELP ON THIS FORUM? |
Hmmm might be you are in the wrong forum or just possibly cannot understand what is being said. The basic version of LimeWire is free, and the pro doesn't cost anywhere near what you say you paid. It looks as though you have been to scam site. reference my 1st link. Scams site are know to have problems with there versions of LimeWire. Plus they load them dowm with spyware. My suggestions is get the official version then if you have problems you may get the help you ask for. Reference 2nd link You also need to remember we are volunteers. |
I have the right version... I have always had the right version.. Getting past the scam part... Yes, the price tag indicates I have been scammed - HOWEVER - the price tag is NOT WHAT HAS BROUGHT ME HERE...... I HAVE THE correct version of Limewire - but I am not connecting..... Not connecting is my main problem.... Connection help is needed - not scam help.. Thank you! |
if you did not pay for LimeWire from the official site, i will refuse to give technical support. the reason is because we dont know if they have modified the limewire source code or not. read my siggy below \/ |
