With Limewire open go to the upper left corner and click on tools/options/advanced/firewall configuration in the pop up window put a tick in the use UPnP option. While you are there look at listening port make sure it is 6346 because you may have to port forward if this option doesn't work. If it doesn't work go to the link below and set your router to 6346.

Well I have what you said. The thing is it worked for like a year and then suddenly it didnt work, I did not change anything with my router.

Grandpa August 20th, 2005 07:25 PM

I didn't have any problems with the older versions of LW but the new ones need to be configured right or they will act up some times they will work and some times they wont are you running in UPnP mode. Or are you manually port forwarding.

The_cool_one11 August 20th, 2005 07:29 PM

UPnP

Grandpa August 20th, 2005 08:13 PM

OK go back to the first post from and instead of marking UPnP mark Manually. then go to the link and follow the instructions on port forwarding your router model if you have trouble with the port forwarding post back here and I will try to walk you through it.

Well I have tried everything, and still it will not connect, all the firewalls on my comp are turned off, and I get the "you have no internet connect or a firewall is blocking limewire" message, it cant be a firewall as none are on, and I have internet so I dont know what to do.

I believe your router has a firewall in it. I run through a Linksys router an it has a firewall in it. Can you connect your Internet directly to your computer. No going through the router and see if you get the same message or if LimeWire connects.
